Welcome Preslee Joy

The Birth of a beautiful baby girl.

My Original due date was July 31st but Preslee wanted to pick her own birthday which is July 27th.

On Saturday night at 10:30pm I took a melatonin "BIG mistake" to help me get to sleep sense I had been having a hard time falling asleep. I brushed my teeth and went to the bathroom just like every other night. This time it was different...  After going to the bathroom I could tell something was different and I told Matt we would probably have a baby in the next 48 hours and called my mom to tell her to keep her phone close just in case.
I tried to sleep but kept felt like I was leaking or didn't wipe good enough or something after about the 5th bathroom trip I was super anxious and told Matt we needed to pick up the house some just in case. I wasn't sure but thought maybe my water broke there was no gush though and it really wasn't noticeable at all. I called the hospital and they told me to come in and get checked. At 11:07pm I had my first contraction and it was painful. I jumped in the shower and as I was getting dressed and ready I was already having to ask matt to put pressure on my back because the contractions hurt.
I asked matt to download a contraction timer to see how close together they were sense I hear it can take days of contractions and I wasn't sure at this point if my water broke or not. I was 4 days early and my first pregnancy. When we started timing them around 12Am they were 3-3.5 minutes apart!! there was no easing into this for me. We headed to the hospital at 12:30 it took FOREVER (10 minutes) to get there.
We got into the hospital and signed in and I swear they were taking their sweet time I don't know if they didn't believe me or what. I changed into a gown and got ready to be checked to see if my water broke. Once the nurse came in I laid down and had a big contraction and water came gushing out yup I was now positive my water was definitely broke. I was already requesting an epidural but had to get an IV which took 3 tries and a half bag of waters in me first. When I got checked my contractions were 2-2.5 minutes apart and I was 3cm dilated.
After I got the epidural relief started immediately thank goodness because I wasn't prepared to all of a sudden have contractions that close together and that hard I thought I would ease into it HAHA. Matt called my mom at 2am and let her know that we would be having a baby today. After I had settled in matt went to the car and grabbed our stuff and called my dad I guess he was kind of panicking and he said he just needed to talk to someone.
Later in the morning the nurse advised us to get some sleep which I really wanted sense I hadn't gotten and sleep yet for the night and I took melatonin but I couldn't sleep because I couldn't feel my legs and that made it hard to sleep. Around noon my family was awake and wondering around and we were just waiting to meet our baby girl.
Around 2:30 the nurse asked me if I wanted to start to push which was so surreal like I actually am doing this huh!? I was so exhausted my epidural was wearing off and my hips hurt I tried pushing but I was falling asleep I was SO SO tired. we took a break and then got back to it after a hour. I got come glucose in my IV and matt kept cold rags on me to keep me cool and awake. I also got a headache after awhile I think probably lack of food, sleep and pushing. We were getting closer my doctor said I was progressing well and that we would soon have a baby. My mom and Matt were getting very excited and told me she had a little bit of hair that was just the motivation I needed. Finally she was out and they put her right on my chest. As the nurse rubbed her trying to get her to cry she was holding her hands like she was praying and screaming but holding her breath.
I couldn't believe I was now holding my baby I looked up at Matt and asked if he wanted to touch her with tears in both of our eyes we were so happy. Matt cut the cord and I got to nurse Preslee for the first time.
Apgar test was 8/9 and she weighed 7lbs 12ounces 20.5 inches long and born at 4:58 pm 7/27/14.
The rest of the day I couldn't keep my eyes off her watching Matt give her the first bath and watching him admire her perfect little face.

I am working as a leasing consultant for 2 apartment complex's but it just isn't working out I don't get paid enough to be away from my little girl and pumping at work isn't helping my milk supply much.

Matt is on his Second year of being an apprentice Electrician and he absolutely loves what he does. He looks forward to work every day and enjoys fixing everything for his family.
